After a rocky start, Team Principal Fred Vasseur still believes that Ferrari can push and close the gap to catch up with Red Bull.
With their second race win under their belt, Red Bull are the team to beat this season. The current constructors champion had an unbelievable pace coming into the new season with Ferrari showing less promise. Two races down of the season so far and RedBull with a one-two finish in both, the gap for the championship is only getting bigger.
Fans still have hope for the Italian team, praising their efforts in the first two races.
Leclerc retired whilst running at 3rd place in Bahrain due to a failed electronics system. Taking a 10 place grid penalty in Saudi Arabia, the team were hoping to bag some points with a new engine component. Coming in 6th and 7th wasn’t ideal, but there could still be hope.
Vasseur says ‘“We have to continue to push. It’s not the right attitude to think about the gap and say, ‘will we be able to close the gap?’ We have to be focused on ourselves, we know where we are weak, and we have to improve on this.”
Suggesting new updates to the car for every race, the team has hope they can close the gap and win some races. Hinting at new parts arriving ahead of the Australian Grand prix this weekend.
Do you think they can do it?
