In a massive turn up for the books and in what will be a great boost to the viewership of the W Series; Caitlyn Jenner has launched a brand new team called Jenner Racing.

“I watched on with great excitement last year when the W Series made its American debut in Austin, Texas, where its drivers entertained 400,000 fans over the weekend at the Circuit of the Americas.

“As a believer in fair competition, a lover of motor racing, and a supporter of all women in sport from the grassroots to elite level, the W Series ticks every box for me and is a fusion of the different aspects of my career,

“As a championship dedicated to inspiring young girls and giving women the chance to succeed in roles throughout what has traditionally been a male-dominated industry, the W Series is changing the face of motorsport.

“As the series continues its rapid expansion with a truly international cast of drivers and races, this was the perfect time to come on board.

“In May, I will be beaming with pride when my Jenner Racing team starts its bid for W Series glory on motor racing’s greatest stage at the first race in Miami, in support of Formula 1. As has always been the case, I’m in it to win it.”

Caitlyn Jenner on joining W Series

Caitlyn will be the team principal and will be in charge of all aspects of the team from hiring drivers, to choosing livery and acquiring sponsorship.

We expect Caitlyn to be super competitive from the off. As an ex olympic gold medalist herself she will be keen to keep up her winning streak and adding more shiny metal to her already choc full trophy case.

The W Series will have 8 races this year and will support the Formula 1 season in Miami, Spain, Britain, France, Hungary, Japan, Austin and Mexico. It will be looking to build on its great success off their previous two seasons where non other than British racing driver Jamie Chadwick brought home the title.

“We are determined to give females a platform and a pathway to succeed in our sport, and when I first met Caitlyn Jenner, it was clear that she is as committed to that mission as all of us at W Series are,”

W Series CEO Catherine Bond Muir said.

Good luck Caitlyn, we look forward to watching your team race this year.
