British GP Review Podcast – The Best Race of the Season?

JamesETS Avatar

If there was ever a race to get people talking, it was this one. The latest episode of the Everything F1 Podcast is here with your British GP Review Podcast, hosted by Sean and joined by James and Coops and honestly, it’s hard to argue with their verdict: best race of the season so far.

Right from the lights out at Silverstone, it had everything. Drama, rain, redemption arcs and one very proud home hero. Lando Norris finally stood on the top step at his home Grand Prix, delivering a win that’s been brewing for a while now. The roar from the crowd? You could feel it through the speakers. Emotional stuff.

But Norris wasn’t the only story. Nico Hülkenberg, yes that Hülkenberg, finally grabbed a podium. It’s taken a long time, hasn’t it? And the podcast doesn’t shy away from how meaningful that result was — not just for him, but for Haas too, who’ve quietly been grinding out solid results all season.

Of course, no Grand Prix weekend would be complete without a few questionable strategy calls, and both Ferrari and Mercedes seemed to be playing chess with the wrong set of rules. Sean and James break down the missteps; some more baffling than others with the kind of eye-rolling frustration we’ve all felt watching our favourite teams fumble the bag again. It’s… well, predictable at this point. Maybe a little harsh, but not unfair.

The wet conditions also brought out the best and the worst in the field. Rookie drivers had a rough time, and while that’s not unusual, there’s definitely a sense that some of them might be running out of excuses. No names here, but the discussion gets candid.

And then there’s the FIA drama. The second half of the episode dives into the controversy surrounding FIA President Mohammed bin Sulayem, who now faces a possible challenge from Tim Mayer in the upcoming elections. Words like “reign of terror” came up, which… yeah, that’s not nothing. The politics of motorsport often fly under the radar, but Sean and James do a solid job explaining why this matters; not just behind the scenes, but on the track too.

All in all, it’s a packed episode, lively, opinionated, and not afraid to stir the pot a little. If you’re even slightly into F1 and want a recap that feels more like a real conversation than a race report, this British GP Review Podcast is well worth a listen.
