Q1

The drizzle began as a mere whisper, but the track conditions prompted the officials to disable DRS. The majority of drivers opted for the soft compound, while a few misjudged the strategy and ventured out on intermediates, swiftly rectifying their mistake.

In a matter of minutes, the unpredictable nature of the race manifested as Lewis Hamilton spun and found himself swallowed by the gravel.

The battle for the top three positions became a dance, with constant exchanges of supremacy. The upgraded McLarens, unleashed with their newfound potential, began to make their mark on the circuit.

Yet, the relentless challenge of track limits reared its head once again, resulting in the deletion of some flying laps, causing frustration for the drivers.

A sudden interruption in the form of a red flag materialized with only three minutes remaining. Magnussen’s unfortunate car shutdown prompted this unexpected turn, leaving all competitors with just one chance to improve their lap times and seize a better position on the grid.

Unfortunately this was another disappointing Qualifying session for Sergio Perez who was out in Q1 alongside Tsunoda, Zhou, De Vries and Magnussen.

Q2

Amidst the team radio chatter, the imminent arrival of rain was the hot topic, although it turned out to be a minor concern this time around.

Hopes were high that Logan Sargeant and Lance Stroll would avoid any deleted laps, aiming to avoid a repeat of the unfortunate situation from the previous weekend.

Once again, both McLarens showcased their strength, firmly holding their positions at the top, while Mercedes valiantly fought to keep up.

However, when the final moments arrived, it proved to be a tough break for Hulkenberg, Stroll, Ocon, Sargeant, and Bottas. Their efforts fell just short of the desired outcome.

Q3

With the long-awaited activation of DRS for this session, the battle for pole position unfolded as soon as the Q3 started.

The top 10 drivers poured their hearts into every lap, resulting in a rapid exchange of pole position contenders.

The crowd erupted in wild cheers as the session drew to a close, believing that local hero Lando Norris had gained the pole.. However, at that crucial moment, Max Verstappen had yet to cross the finish line.

In a stunning turn of events, the two-time world champion once again asserted his dominance, securing pole position for an impressive fifth consecutive time. Lando Norris claimed a well-deserved P2, with Oscar Piastri securing an impressive P3.

Undoubtedly, this qualifying session marked a high point for the British team in their home race. With new upgrades in place, will they be able to maintain a strong pace in tomorrow’s race? All eyes are fixed on their performance.
