News has broken that Oliver (Ollie) Bearman will drive for the Haas Formula 1 team from the 2025 season. Replacing Nico Hülkenberg, who has a confirmed seat at Stake.
After rumours have swirled all season, it has been confirmed that Oliver Bearman will drive for Haas from 2025.
The 19-year-old driver stole the show during the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix where he replaced departing Carlos Sainz and finished P7. His debut race saw him finish in the points, impressing those at Haas and Ferrari.
He also challenged Lewis Hamilton during Q2 in Qualifying, narrowly missing out on a Q3 spot in P11.
Bearman had initially gained attention after an impressive rookie season in F2. With 4 wins throughout the season and the first ever clean sweep in Baku. Baku saw Fred Vasseur greet him in parc ferme, watching the podium.
It was after this impressive F2 Campaign he signed on as a reserve driver for Ferrari and Haas.
Bearman on His New Contract
He admitted, “It’s hard to put into words just how much this means to me,” he said. “Saying out loud that I will be a Formula 1 driver for MoneyGram Haas F1 Team makes me so immensely proud. To be one of the very few people who get to do the thing what they dreamed of as a child is something truly incredible.“
“To Gene [Haas], Ayao [Komatsu] and everyone at Haas. thank you for believing in me and for trusting me to represent your team.”
Ayao Komatsu, the Haas team principal, said: “It’s an exciting thing to be able to give a young driver as talented as Oliver Bearman his first full-time seat in Formula 1.
“He’s developed into an incredibly mature driver under the guidance of the Scuderia Ferrari Driver Academy and the world saw that for themselves when he was called in at the last minute to compete at the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix.
“Oliver proved he was more than ready for the task, and we’ve seen that for ourselves running him in the Haas cars in our FP1 sessions over the past two seasons.“
Now, Bearman will become the fourth driver racing under the British flag on the grid. Alongside Lewis Hamilton, Lando Norris, and George Russell from 2025.
The junior is also a member of the Ferrari Driver Academy where he competes in the Formula 2 Championship alongside Mercedes hopeful Kimi Antonelli.
