ANOTHER DAY, ANOTHER PIQUET CONTROVERSY

Nelson Piquet is once again in the limelight for something he has said on social media. This time for “alleged incitation to violence and for stimulating rifts between the military and other branches of power”.

The three time World Champion Nelson Piquet is an outspoken supporter of Jair Bolsonaro who held the office of President of Brazil since 2019.

Newly appointed president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva came into power recently and Nelson Piquet has been caught on camera saying “it is Lula in the cemetary” which is thought to be a direct reference to da Silva.

The matter is being looked into by the federal prosecutor’s office in Brasilia according to Fox Sports.

This comes off the back of controversial comments made about Lewis Hamilton, which were racist and homophobic, which he apologised for but insisted had been misinterpreted. He was however banned from the FORMULA 1 paddock indefinitely for the comments.
