Right now Alpha Tauri are going through a rough patch. They’re sitting at P9 in the constructor standings, barely ahead of their rivals Williams by just one point.

Both the team and one of their drivers, Nyck de Vries, are struggling with performance. De Vries is having a hard time making a mark while Yuki Tsunoda is impressing everyone.
There are rumors going around that de Vries might be replaced by either Liam Lawson or Ayumu Iwasa before the summer break. Meanwhile, the car keeps struggling at the back of the pack.
AlphaTauri is on the move, though. Guillaume Dezoteux, the head of operations, talked to Auto Motor und Sport and said
“We’re expecting a big step. Of course, there’s always a question mark about the correlation with track simulations. But so far, the upgrades have always delivered what was calculated beforehand.”
The 2023 season has been a mix of ups and downs for the AlphaTauri duo. Dezoteux was cautious, though, mentioning that other teams are also bringing significant upgrades to Imola.
“If the step is big enough, we can hopefully make up several positions at once. “But unfortunately, the others aren’t standing still either. We’ve been seeing a tough battle here all year. “The midfield race will probably remain interesting in the future.”
They will however have to wait to see how their upgrades will affect them. This weekends race at the Emilia-Romagna Autodromo has been postponed due to severe weather in the region. Check out our article on this here.
