Vowles, who joined Williams in February, has been collaborating with Fry to strengthen the team, particularly focusing on filling the Head with Aerodynamics role following David Wheater’s departure late last year. Wheater has since returned to Enstone with Alpine.

In an interview with F1, Vowles announced Adam Kenyon’s promotion to Head of Aerodynamics in March this year, highlighting Kenyon’s previous experience at Mercedes and Red Bull. Vowles praised Kenyon’s leadership and strategic restructuring efforts aimed at long-term excellence.

Regarding Fry’s role as CTO, Vowles emphasized the ongoing efforts to build a robust technical team capable of sustained performance over several years rather than focusing solely on immediate challenges.

During the Canadian Grand Prix weekend, Vowles disclosed Williams’ proactive approach to expanding its workforce, aiming to attract top talent from rival teams with substantial Formula 1 experience. Despite currently standing ninth in the constructors’ championship, the team remains optimistic about improving its performance in Spain following promising showings, including Alex Albon’s scoring of two points in Monaco.
