Abbi Pulling Signs Multi-Year Contract With Nissan in Formula E

2024 F1 Academy Champion Abbi Pulling has signed with the Nissan Formula E team as their rookie and simulator driver on a multi-year agreement.

Pulling, who dominated the 2024 Championship, will join the Japanese based outfit, taking part in their Rookie Tests, simulator work and event preparation. She will also be involved in the initial set-up of the squad’s new state-of-the-art Dynisma simulator ahead of Season 12 of Formula E.

Pulling has previously raced with Nissan in the FE All Women Test at the Circuito del Jeramy in Madrid last November. Pulling topped the timesheets with a 1:30.889, three tenths of a second quicker than the rest of the field.

F1 Academy Standout

Pulling was one of the standout stars of the 2024 F1 Academy season, winning nine of the fourteen races. The Alpine Academy backed driver managed 10 pole positions, five clean sweeps and never finished off the podium.

Pulling was 121 points clear of the next driver in P2.

Alongside her stint with Rodin Motorsport in F1 Academy, she also competed in the 2024 British F4. There, she was the first female to take victory in the Championship’s history. Pulling is now racing with Rodin in the 2025 GB3 Championship, where she finished fifth in the season opener.

Pulling’s Thoughts

The 22-year old spoke highly of her new team.

“Everything the team did for me during the test was so professional. The time and effort put in to make sure I was prepared was great to see, and the crew were patient with me as a rookie.” – Abbi Pulling

As one of the most promising female drivers, Pulling is excited for her upcoming challenge.

“It’s different from anything I’ve driven before, and it took some time to adjust to the increased power. I’m looking forward to my work in the simulator and to take the car on track as well when the opportunities arise.” – Abbi Pulling

Pulling will complete her first rookie test at the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship Berlin E-Prix Rookie Test, on Monday, 14 July.
