Former Williams Racing reserve driver, Aitken has confirmed he has parted ways with the Grove based Formula 1 team to focus on his Sportscar career.
Aitken has been part of Williams for 3 years, making his Formula 1 race debut at the 2020 Sakhir GP stepping in for George Russell, who was covering for Hamilton at Mercedes.

Although Jack had reduced his open-wheel career in 2021 to focus on Endurance Racing, he maintained a relationship with Williams in 2022.
“We’ve mutually decided to part ways, I kept an involvement last year, which was great. I really like the team and I’m based half-an-hour away from the factory, so it was very convenient to do simulator work and I was happy to help and attend some races. “But my calendar is too busy these days. I want to focus on my racing programme and on where my career is going, which is in sportscar racing. They’ve been very supportive of that, and equally they’ve got younger guys coming through their academy, and they want to give them seat time and time in the sim. It just made sense
Jack Aitken on leaving Williams to focus on his Sportcar CareerJack will be racing this weekend at the Daytona 24 hours along side Alexander Sims and Pio Derani In the AXR Cadillac V-LMDh.
Aitken has been confirmed as the third driver for AXR for the four events that make up the ISMA Michelin Endurance Cup. Jack has confirmed that he is looking to add more races, however he wouldn’t be drawn on if the 24 hours LeMans is an option.
