Ferrari test driver and 2019 FIA Formula 3 champion Robert Shwartzman is set to be testing an IndyCar in January according to reports from the RACER.
The Israeli born Russian drove twice for Ferrari last season in two FP1 sessions after a 2021 season which saw him finish runner up in FIA Formula 2.
There are no available seats at Ganassi in 2023 however Schwartzman will potentially be looking at a seat with the team in 2024, given the fact it is likely Alex Palou, who will be a free agent will depart for McLaren Arrow SP and therefore CGR must look for a quality replacement.
Shwartzman is one of the more talented juniors to rise through the ranks of the European formulae, who narrowly missed a seat in F1, along with Callum Ilott and Christian Lundgaard who both had strong rookie seasons in 2022 and will surely pose as inspiration to the Russian, if he decides to cross the Atlantic and race in the US.
