F1: ASTON MARTIN REVEAL LAUNCH DATE FOR 2023 CAR

The launch will take place at their Silverstone base, where construction of the team’s new £200 million headquarters is well underway.

Having finished seventh in the Constructors’ Championship in the last two years, the team’s owner Lawrence Stroll is hopeful that the new base – along with new personnel like their new Technical Director Dan Fallows, who was poached from Red Bull – will help them move towards the front of the grid and eventually lead to a Championship win.

The AMR23 will be the first Aston Martin F1 car to be driven in a race by their new driver Fernando Alonso who is making the move to the team after two years at Alpine. He will drive alongside Lawrence Stroll’s son, Lance.

Alonso completed 97 laps in the 2022 car during post-season testing in Abu Dhabi back in November, and enjoyed his first time on track;

It was a very special day, having the first go in the car and trying to feel also the differences [between Alpine and Aston Martin]. Obviously, we raced two days ago here, so it’s very fresh and it’s very useful.

I tried to meet all the mechanics, the engineers, and [I will] try to remember a lot of new names, for sure!”
