Honda has register it’s interest in becoming a Power Unit supplier from 2026.
The Japanese manufacturer officially pulled out of Formula 1 at the end of last season, however remains closely linked to Redbull, providing support to Redbull Power Trains.
The Honda Power Unit IP has been loaned to Redbull untill the end of the 2025 season, ending just prior to the implementation of the new rules.

The Honda name returned to the Redbull car in the latter half of the season, with Redbull and Honda agreeing a new deal allowing Honda a slightly more visible presence on both Alpha Tauri and Honda.
The FIA has given a soft deadline, in November, for manufacturers to register an interest in the 2026 Power Unit regulations, although not binding, it allows the manufacturers a seat at the table for discussing the new set of rules.
As HRC, we have registered as a PU manufacturer after 2026. The F1 regulations from 2026 onwards are moving in the direction of carbon neutrality. In addition, the fact that electrification is also being promoted, and the carbon neutrality and electrification that Honda Motor Co., Ltd. is promoting, is the same. The targets match. As a racing company, we have registered as a manufacturer in order to advance research on racing
