While we still have one more final race of the 2022 season we can now announce the calendar for the 2023 Formula 2 season! With the introduction to Melbourne, Australia added to the new season’s calendar drivers will compete in 14, a total of 28 races across 13 countries as support racing for the Formula 1 World Championship season.
The calendar will follow F1’s schedule but it doesn’t seem to differ as much to previous seasons for some of the breaks, Baku is racing earlier in the season and the mid season headers have been broken into 2 double headers before and after the summer break.
Drivers will have a busy July with 4 rounds taking place as 2 double headers, and as usual the final round will take place at Yas Marina in Abu Dhabi.

Stefano Domenicali, President and CEO of Formula 1, said: “We are pleased to confirm the Formula 2 calendar for 2023 and look forward to another exciting season where the drivers will battle it out for the title and the chance to reach the highest level of motorsport. The Championship continues to play a hugely important role in nurturing the talent of the future and we are excited to see the next generation of F1 stars take to the track at 14 rounds of the 2023 season”
FIA Formula 2 CEO Bruno Michel said: “The 2023 F2 calendar will have 14 rounds, the same amount as the current one. In 2022, we’ve enjoyed more action than ever, with a total of 28 races, and we wanted to keep this for next season. The good thing is that there are a lot of tracks who would love to add F2 to their race weekend programme, but we always keep in mind the costs related to more racing. So, we have decided to limit the number of rounds to 14 again for 2023, and we will keep helping the teams to ensure their budgets remain at a proper level.
With the Drivers Championship and Constructors championship already been awarded in Imola will we see an early winner or will it go down to the last race of the season?
As mentioned we still have one more race and the driver to look out for is Logan Sargent with the recent announcement to Williams for the 2023 season depending on if he is obtain the required amount of super license points in the last round. Currently he needs to finish P6 or higher in order to obtain the necessary points for his F1 2023 seat. Think its possible?
Keep an eye out for our driver announcement articles and end of the season round up and statistics for all your F2 needs as we await for the 2023 season!
