Well the worst kept secret in F1 for 2023 is finally out of the bag.
Oscar Piastri is going to be racing for Alpine in 2023.
The young Australian comes to F1 after spending a year on the sidelines, following back to back F3 and F2 titles in 2020 and 2021 respectively.
After securing the F3 title in 2020 he was granted a place in the young drivers test at Bahrain in October 2020. He tested with the then named Renault F1 Team, now Alpine, and took part alongside current F1 driver Guangu Zhou.

He will partner current Alpine driver Esteban Ocon, who has a contract in place until 2024. it is unknown how long his contract is at the moment.
Piastri has yet to make his free practice debut for Alpine. He was due to make an appearance during FP1 at the French Grand Prix, but this has been delayed until after the summer break.
