Welcome to our Hungarian GP Sunday Race Live Blog!

After a thrilling qualifying session yesterday, the stage is set for a fascinating Hungarian Grand Prix.

The weekend has seen the competitive order swing between the frontrunners. Ferrari looked strongest on Friday as Charles Leclerc topped FP1 before Lewis Hamilton led a Ferrari one-two in FP2. Saturday, however, belonged to McLaren, with Lando Norris going fastest in FP3. The reigning world champion then produced a stunning final lap in qualifying to snatch pole position by just 0.012 seconds.

Qualifying brought plenty of late drama. Norris secured McLaren’s first pole position of the 2026 season. Meanwhile, Lewis Hamilton and Kimi Antonelli both handed three-place grid penalties after the session. This promoted Charles Leclerc onto the front row alongside Norris. With Ferrari, McLaren, Mercedes and Red Bull all showing competitive pace throughout the weekend, Sunday’s race looks wide open.

Strategy has often decided races at the Hungaroring. Overtaking opportunities are limited and tyre management is crucial over a race distance. With several championship contenders starting out of position following the post-qualifying penalties, we are expecting plenty of strategic intrigue as the lights go out in Budapest.
