As the FORMULA 1 ROLEX GROSSER PREIS VON ÖSTERREICH 2022 or the Austrian GP draws to a close, reports have surfaced on social media of sexual and homophobic abuse directed towards fans while attending the Grand Prix.
With some fans reporting that due to the extreme nature of the abuse directed towards them that they will not be returning to the track for any future events or have experienced panic attacks at the thought of returning to the event.
FORMULA 1 has responded this morning, condemning the abuse and looking to discuss the complaints with the race promoter and security.
We at EVERYTHINGF1 pride ourselves as being inclusive to all who follow and love FORMULA 1. We care for and enjoy interacting with all fans of the sport regardless of their gender, sexual orientation, race, age etc.
EverythingF1 believes that going to a F1 race should be a safe space for ALL fans to meet other like minded people to share stories and opinions with eachother in a kind and respectful way. Abuse of any kind is not acceptable within either society or while at a FORMULA 1 event.
FORMULA 1 needs to take these concerns seriously and follow up their statements with actions. The behaviour can not be allowed to continue.
