Charles LeClerc has taken back to back poles in Baku.

The Monegasque put in an absolutely scintillating lap in the dying seconds of Q3 to storm to pole position on the shores of the Caspian Sea.

Just behind him is the rejuvenated Sergio Perez. The Mexican Defence minister put in some brilliant laps to take second on the grid, and P3 ahead of current world champion and teammate Max Verstappen. They both start ahead of Sainz who is P4 after a slightly erroneous run in Q3.

Georgr Russell continues his run of putperforming his teammate by putting his Mercedes’ a brilliant P5, ahead of the Alfa Tauri of Pierre Gasly. They both finished ahead of their teammates Lewis Hamilton and Yuki Tsunoda, who qualified P7 and P8 respectively.

Running out the top 10 is Sebastian Vettel of Aston Martin in P9 and the Alpine of Fernando Alonso. They have a head of the McLaren duo of Lando Norris and Daniel Ricardo, both of whom were unable to make it out of Q2.

Elsewhere in Q2 Esteban Ocon put his Alpine P13, and ahead of the Alfa Romeo duo of Guangu Zhou and Valtteri Bottas. The flying Finn appeared to slightly struggle this weekend, and has been outscored by his new teammate for the first time.

Q1 saw the only red flag of the session, as Canadian Lance Stroll attempted to make his own Wall of Champions in Baku and clouted the wall.

The Aston Martin driver, who is no stranger to a collision, smashed his AMR into the barrier at T7. He starts ahead of Schumacher who is back in P20.

Above them is the Williams duo of Alex Albon and Nicholas Latifi. Albon was held up by Fernando Alonso who went wide in T15 at the end of Q1.
