It has been reported that ex Formula 1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone has been arrested in Brazil for boarding a flight to Switzerland, while illegally carrying a firearm.
He has paid bail and has been released and allowed to travel to Switzerland.
The LW Seecamp .32 gun was found by police while X-ray scanning his luggage. Bernie admitted to owning the weapon but was apparently unaware of the gun being within his luggage.
Bernie Ecclestone and wife Fabianna had been visiting the country for several events and had been in the company of ex Formula 1 driver and triple world champion Nelson Piquet in Brasilia.
