Alpine are set to make a decision on who will drive along side Esteban Ocon from 2023.
Alpine Team Principal Otmar Szafnauer has stated that although it’s a bit early at the moment, they will be looking to make decision around the British GP.
With both Fernando Alonso and Oscar Piastri both looking for a seat for 2023. It will be interesting to see who the French team decide on. Fernando, a 2-time champion has impressed with his speed this year and is keen to remain in Formula 1. Oscar Piastri has impressed in junior formula with back to back wins in F3 and F2.
Alpine signed the Australian, Piastri to be their reserve driver for 2022, however they will be looking to get the rookie into a full time race seat for 2023. If they decide to keep Alonso in the seat Alpine will be looking to “loan” out Oscar to another team, with Williams top of the list.
