It is being reported that on Tuesday 1st March, Max Verstappen headed to the Red Bull factory in Milton Keynes to sure up the final details in his new contract extension.
This new deal will see the World Champion staying with the energy drinks company long into the future, suggesting the contract takes him past his 30th Birthday.
It will also earn him a pretty penny on the way, with the deal reported to be worth £40 million a year!
That is a massive amount of money only seen in F1 by his number 1 rival who he very narrowly beat last year on the final lap of the final race of the season.
While the amount is very substantial, the fact that he is staying at Red Bull for that length of time is not. Both he and the team at the end of last season were full of praise for each other and during the cool down lap in Abu Dhabi, Max said he wanted to stay with the team ‘forever’. It seems that it wasn’t just talk.
