Mario Andretti has tweeted that Michael Andretti and Andretti Global have applied to the FIA for permission to enter a team in F1 in 2024.
This would see the first brand new team enter Formula 1 in some time. Andretti were in discussions with Sauber regarding takingover the team, however this fell apart over financing.
Andretti Motorsport is no stranger to Motorsport with interests in Indycar, Extreme E, Formula E to name a few. The biggest question is do they have the finances to compete?
Even with the cost cap in place it is still an expensive venture, Including ,$200million entry fee.
