Green Light on FP3

Max Verstappen was the first driver to take to the track in FP3, as others waited in their pit boxes according to their run plans. Lando Norris followed suit after 15 minutes, gathering as much learning on the car after missing FP1. After 20 minutes, traffic started to build up as more drivers headed out onto the track. Many drivers were on soft or medium tyres, readying them for qualifying. Both Ferraris aborted their first laps, as Charles Leclerc experienced a wobble coming out of Turn 3. Lewis Hamilton also went wide and was forced to rejoin the track and abort the lap.

Halfway through

It was a quiet start to the session, with drivers coming in and out of the pits to rub in different tyre compounds. However, Norris followed up his FP2 performance by going straight to the top of the timing screens. His teammate, Oscar Piastri, was five tenths behind. After 40 minutes, Piastri had a moment in the gravel at turn 9 and was forced back into the pits to check the floor of his McLaren.

With 15 minutes to go, Lance Stroll was the first to come out on fresh softs for his qualifying runs. After a quick floor check in the garage, Piastri came back out on track to go one-tenth behind Norris. After a mostly error-free practice session, both Red Bulls spun in the last few minutes of FP3.

In what was a considerably quiet free practice session, Norris held P1, followed closely behind by his teammate Piastri. Max Verstappen followed closely behind in P3. With lots of learning done in FP3, the teams will now be looking to get their cars ready for qualifying later today.
