Indy NXT in Road America never disappoints. Last year it saw Jamie Chadwick take her maiden victory in the series as she duelled with Louis Foster for the lead. 2025 once again saw a great battle for the win and a new victor for only the third time this season. Here’s what you need to know.
Collet Wins in 2025

Brazilian Driver Caio Collet qualified in second place for the Grand Prix at Road America. The top step of the podium has alluded him so far this season. With two third places and two second places to his name, it was only a matter of time before he claimed P1 for himself. Claim it he did as the HMD Motorsports driver overtook Dennis Hauger as the pair swept into T1 towards the end of the race. The smooth move was enough to get the job done and he was able to keep Hauger behind for the remainder of the race.
Collet now sits 70 points behind Hauger in P3 overall in the Driver’s Standings.
Hauger Still on the Hunt

For a fifth time in 2025, Dennis Hauger claimed Pole Position for the Indy NXT race at Road America. While he wasn’t able to convert this one into yet another win, the Andretti Global driver did finish in second place. With five laps to go once Collet had overtaken him, Hauger drove like the Champion that he is and didn’t take any unnecessary risks. Consistent point scoring at the top of the field is key to winning a title. His fight for the Championship remains strong as he has a twenty-eight point lead over his nearest rival, Lochie Hughes in second place overall.
Hughes Close Behind

Last time out in St. Louis, it was Lochie Hughes who claimed victory. This time however, the Australian would have to settle for third. It’s his joint second worst result of the year alongside his third place finish in Alabama. For reference, his worst outing of 2025 so far is his fifth place finish back at the Indianapolis Motorsport Speedway. This level of performance says it all. Twenty-eight points behind Hauger means that Hughes continues to be the Norwegian’s main rival for the 2025 Championship. It’s going to be nip and tuck between the pair as we head into the final stretch of the season.
Rowe Continues to Impress

Myles Rowe finished in P5 at Road America. The Abel Motorsports driver is another driver putting in incredibly persistent performances this year. Were it not for the unfortunate result in Detroit, Rowe would possibly be much higher in the standings, perhaps even ahead of Collet in P3 and closing in on Hughes and Hauger out front. With seven races left this season, it will be hard to fathom if Rowe doesn’t at least notch up one win to his name. The American continues to impress and on this trajectory is sure to claim a seat in IndyCar sometime in the next few years.
Everyone Else

Josh Pierson equalled his best result of the year so far by finishing in P4. If it turns into a two way battle for the Championship between Hauger and Hughes, then Pierson could end up as the best of the rest. He’s only 53 points behind Collet now as we leave Road America. Jack William Miller was another driver that equalled his own best result of the season, coming home in P7.
Salvador De Alba had a bad race by his own standards by finishing in P8. Bryce Aron meanwhile had his best outing of the year by driving his way into P9. On the flip side of that, Jordan Missing had his worst race of 2025 to date, finishing down in a lowly P19.
The fight between all of these drivers will rumble on for the rest of the season as they hope to disrupt the tight competition out front.
