Ash Sutton has made a habit of starting well in race two of the weekend. The four time champ claimed his fourth win of the season from fourth on the grid. He made a great start and gained two positions straight away and then took the lead on lap three from Tom Ingram. Sutton then controlled the race to strike back at Ingram. His call to drop back out of the podium places in race one and using the soft tyre paying off. Adam Morgan followed Sutton home as he stands on the second step of the podium for the third time this season. Tom Chilton rounded out the top three with a third podium this season.
Lloyd suffers big crash at Clay Hill
Dan Lloyd has had a tricky weekend so far at Oulton Park which was compiled by a big crash in race two of the day. After getting disqualified from qualifying yesterday, Lloyd went from 24th to 12th in race one with a great drive carving through the traffic. He was looking to continue his progress through the field before he flew off the road on lap three and hit the barriers on the outside of Clay Hill. It was a big hit for Lloyd and with not much time before race three, the Restart Racing team will have a big job to get that car ready for the final race at Oulton Park.
Lloyd’s crash saw the safety car come out until lap 10.

Ingram battles hard for fourth place
Tom Ingram has looked superb all day, pulling a five second gap to win in race one. But this was arguably his most impressive drive of the day. Starting on the hard tyres, Ingram held off Sutton and Adam Morgan until lap three and was shuffled down to third place. After the safety car came in, Chilton passed Ingram which left him in fourth and under attack from Jake Hill. It seemed a matter of if not when Hill would pass Ingram, but he had some assistance from Senna Proctor. He was challanging Hill which gave Ingram some breathing room. Proctor eventually suffered some damage, smoke coming from his tyre as bodywork rubbed against it which saw him drop back of Hill and Ingram. Ingram positioned his car well for the rest of the laps and managed to keep the BMW behind him and keeping him on par with Sutton so far this weekend.
With rain in the air at Oulton Park, the last race before the BTCC summer break is sure to be one to watch. The reverse grid draw saw Gordon Shedden be put on pole position for the first time since his return.
