It was a slow start to the session as drivers took their time getting out on track for their last practice laps.
Nico Hulkenberg shot to the top of the timing screens in the first 15 minutes on medium tires. Lewis Hamilton, driving for Ferrari, trailed just 0.023s behind on softs. Several drivers quickly beat Hulkenberg’s time, with Charles Leclerc jumping to P1 with a 1:12.712 as the track kept improving. Many, including Max Verstappen in the Red Bull, clocked strong laps on the mediums, proving their effectiveness.
The McLarens and Ferraris took turns at the top of the timing screen as the session reached the halfway mark. Further into the session, Verstappen put his Red Bull into P1 with a lap set on medium tires.
Impeding!
Many drivers were investigated for impeding throughout the session, as traffic caused an issue for the drivers. A typical but frustrating challenge of driving on the streets of Monaco.

Many drivers struggled to maintain temperature in their soft tires, with sector times worsening toward the end of each lap. Several needed a few attempts to put together a strong run. Piastri took most of the session before finally delivering a lap that pushed him up to P2.
Early End to the Session
The session was brought to an end when Hamilton made an unfortunate mistake as he rounded Turn 3 and made impact with the wall. Unfortunately, for the rest of the grid, they were unable to do their practice starts as the cars were forced to head back into the pits. With Qualifying up next, Leclerc will be looking to continue with his form and claim pole for the 2025 Monaco Grand Prix.
