Courtney Crone – America’s Next F1 Academy Star

Courtney Crone, born and raised in California is gearing up to make her debut in F1 Academy as Haas’ representative in 2025. The 23-year-old American driver has been confirmed as Haas’ representative for the upcoming season. This marks a significant milestone in her career as she transitions to single-seater racing at an international level. Crone has competed in various motorsport categories ranging from sprint cars to sports car championships. In 2025 she will make her full-time F1A debut with ART Grand Prix. While she may be a rookie in the series, her extensive background in diverse racing disciplines suggests she is more than capable. Immersed in motorsport from a young age, Crone began karting at just three years old. By age four, she was competing in quarter midget races, showcasing her early passion and talent for racing.

Courtney Crone’s Impressive Racing History

Throughout her career, Courtney Crone has showcased remarkable versatility across multiple racing disciplines. At just 11 years old, she secured three track championships in the 150cc Motorcycle class before advancing to the 250cc category in Junior Speedway. In 2016 she earned Rookie of the Year honors in the USAC Western States Midget Series after finishing fifth that season. Whilst expanding her skills she also competed in the IMSA VP Racing SportsCar Challenge, gaining valuable sports car racing experience. In 2024, she raced in the Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America with World Speed Motorsports where she showcased her talents.

F1 Academy Test Run

Crone got her first taste of F1 Academy as a wild card entry during the 2024 Miami Grand Prix weekend. Despite being a newcomer to single-seaters, she delivered a strong performance, finishing 14th and 11th in the two races. Her adaptability and competitive spirit eventually caught the attention of Haas. Therefore, to get in touch with the F1A cars, Crone took part in a two-day official test at Circuit Zandvoort in the Netherlands. Her partnership with Haas will ultimately provide her with a strong technical foundation as she embarks on this new challenge.

Rookie Year Incoming

The 2025 season will be a learning curve for Crone as she adjusts to the demands of single-seater racing. While she has extensive experience in various motorsport categories, Formula 4-style cars require a different driving approach. However, her extensive racing background suggests that she has the adaptability and skill set needed to succeed. Additionally, with Haas and ART Grand Prix supporting her development, she has the resources needed to compete at a high level.

Crone joins a talented group of women who have represented the United States in past seasons of F1 Academy. With the F1 fan base growing in the States, Crone has the chance to make a name for herself whilst representing the USA on the international stage.
