Alessandro Alunni Bravi has announced he will depart from his role as the Team Representative and Managing Director Sauber F1 team by months end. Marking the end of a nearly 8 year long partnership between the pair.

Alunni Bravi initially joined the Hinwil team in 2017 as General Counsel and Board Member. However, over the years his responsibilities grew. In 2022, he became Managing Director, focusing on areas such as marketing, communications, and sales. Then in the following year of 2023, he took on the high-profile role of Team Representative, serving as the public face of the team during race weekends and in other official duties.

Reflecting on his departure, Alunni Bravi said, “Since I joined in 2017, I have seen this team grow and change beyond what anyone could have imagined. This organisation went through exciting and difficult times alike, all without ever losing its spirit and its commitment, which is something I find inspiring. I was proud of being able to represent the team as its public face in the last two years.”

He added, “As I move on to a new project, I want to thank Finn Rausing, all those who put so much trust and faith in me at Sauber and Audi, and all the colleagues I have been working with for the last eight years. This team is a family and has a bright future ahead.”
Thoughts Kick Sauber F1 Team Boss
Chief Operating and Chief Technical Officer Mattia Binotto, who joined Sauber Motorsport in 2024, paid tribute to Alunni Bravi’s contributions, stating, “Having worked closely with him in the months since my arrival to Hinwil, I want to pay tribute to Alessandro, a true team player who came to embody the essence of Sauber throughout the years. Alessandro played a wide range of roles within the team, steering it through difficult and exciting times alike. As he moves onto a new venture, the whole company would like to thank him for all his energy and contributions over the years and wish him the best for the future.”

This departure marks the beginning of the end for Sauber, as they look forward to 2026 with Audi. This exciting new partnership is a new era for the team who are already undergoing a lot of changes for the coming seasons. Featuring an brand new driver line up, with Nico Hulkenberg, joining from Haas, and rookie Gabriel Bortoleto, the 2024 Formula 2 champion, the team are hopeful they can have a successful 2025 F1 campaign.
