When speaking to the media, Lloyd could not contain her happiness for this amazing opportunity. Taking the time to say she felt “very excited and honoured” to be a part of the grid.

However, she has already completed many amazing things in her motorsports career thus far, so let’s take a look at some of them.

Ella Lloyd’s journey to this position has been vastly different to many others. At just 18, Lloyd has already made a name for herself in British motorsport, currently competing in the ROKiT FIA British Formula 4 Championship with JHR Developments.

In her second season in the championship, she has secured three podium finishes, demonstrating her talent and resilience in one of the UK’s most competitive junior series. Lloyd currently sits ninth in the standings out of 29 drivers, showing potential to move further up the ranks. She is also ahead of several of her F1 ACADEMY peers in the standings.

Before entering British F4, Lloyd raced in the Ginetta Junior Championship. Her 2022 debut season was wildly successful for the British Driver. She secured 15 points finishes out of 25 races, a significant accomplishment in an extremely competitive environment. She finished the year as the 10th highest rookie in the standings.

F1 ACADEMY Wild Card explanation

The Wild Card initiative in F1 ACADEMY, was designed to highlight regional talent and offer opportunities to aspiring young female drivers. As there were no available talents for the Singapore region, this entry is open to talents of any region. Helping to grow the female talent pool in motorsports, particularly Formula 1.

Lloyd will sport a special-edition livery promoting the F1 Academy’s “Discover Your Drive” programme. Which aims to inspire the next generation of female motorsport talent. In Singapore, the programme will also involve local students in trackside educational experiences, offering insights into engineering, operations, and off-track motorsport roles. Creating a greater acceptance for Females in motorsport.

Lloyd further expressed her excitement for the once-in-a-lifetime moment, “This opportunity is a result of my hard work, and I’m eager to showcase my skills and inspire other young female drivers.”
