F1 returns from the summer break for FP1 at the 2024 Dutch GP. Will McLaren continue their resurgence in pursuit of the Redbull’s and Max Verstappen?

Soggy Start-Fast Finish
The first session of the weekend was rather wet, with all cars heading out in the blue full wet tyres. As the session developed the cars were able to run the inters, but not before several drivers were caught out by the conditions.
Carlos Sainz, Nico Hülkenberg and Max Verstappen all had moments during the session, with the current championship leader having a pretty impressive spin.
Lando Norris in the McLaren was up at the top of the time sheets with a time of 1 minute 20, with less than 10 minutes to go Norris fired in a 1:17.367 in the soft slick tyres.

The other McLaren of Piastri stuck in a lap that was around a second behind his team mate.
As the session ran down into the final few minutes the times began to fall from a 1 minute 20 to 1:13.766 by Russell in the Mercedes. By the end of the session the fastest lap was
Most teams were driving with their main line up with the exception of Stake F1 who, had Robert Swartzmann, the young Russian driver had a solid session in tricky conditions, finishing the session in 19th.
A difficult session to judge, however the weekend looks to be about Redbull (Max) and McLaren (Lando). Can someone else spoil the party?
