PREMA Drivers Penalised Post-2024 Belgian F2 Feature Race

Both PREMA Racing drivers have been dealt grid penalties to be served after the summer break following the 2024 F2 Belgian Feature Race.

Oliver Bearman has been handed a five-place grid penalty to serve in the next race he competes in for causing a collision. The Brit collided with Josep María Martí on the opening lap of the Sprint, seeing both drivers out of the rest of the race. Stewards determined that there were ‘no external circumstances affecting Bearman’ when he collided with Zane Maloney and Martí on the run to Turn 1.

Andrea Kimi Antonelli has also been landed with a five-place grid penalty to serve in the next race he competes in, but for a very different reason. Antonelli reportedly had dry ice pellets falling from his car on the Formation Lap – an incident that PREMA had already had been pulled up for at Silverstone. Antonelli was given a suspended penalty back in Silverstone for having dry ice coming from his car, and the penalty has now been triggered after the second incident.

Both PREMA drivers will serve their post-Belgian feature race penalties in the next race in which they compete – most likely the Sprint at Monza after the summer break.
