Race 1 saw Abbi Pulling top the timesheet from Pole Position with home race hero Nerea Martí P2 and Chloe Chambers P3.

After the race, Maya Weug was penalised for causing a collision with Amna Al. Qubaisi. This dropped the Dutch driver from P12 to P15.

Green Flag

Chloe Chambers had an incredible start from P2 and led into the first corner. Abbi Pulling was behind in P2 with Nerea Martí P3.

Much like yesterday, Doriane Pin had a slow start, dropping from P3 to P6. The French driver has fractured her ribs and is carrying an injury.

Pulling was informed via her radio that she may have jumped the start. It was important that she stuck close to Chambers who on Lap 3 continued to be the race leader.

Bianca Bustamante was officially noted for a false start on Lap 4.

While the on-track action was middling, the FIA gave Jessica Edgar a five-second penalty for leaving the track and gaining an advantage. This is the second race in a row this has happened to the American Express backed driver.

Elsewhere, Chambers now had a whole second lead in P1. Pin was right behind Bustamante with a 0.3 second gap between them. PREMA alerted Pin to the fact that Bustamante was in contention for a time penalty but also noted that she must get ahead of her.

Behind them, Lia Block overtook Edgar for P7. A few turns later, Pin and Bustamante went side by side with Pin slotting into P5.

Bustamante received a five-second penalty for her false start.

The battle for P2 began. Chambers sat ahead in P1 with a +3.4 second gap while Pulling, Martí, Hamda Al. Qubaisi, and Pin all followed each other in a line in a battle for a podium finish.

Final Ten Laps

Pulling maintained her P2 position. Chambers was flying ahead with a six second gap. This would be Haas’ first F1 Academy win.

H. Al Qubaisi and Martí went side by side down the long straight. The Red Bill junior slotted past for P3 with Pin on Martí’s tails.

As H. Al Qubaisi began to chase down P2, Chambers extended her lead from the pack by seven seconds.

At the back of the grid, Weug overtook Aurelia Nobels for P14. Nobels was visibly struggling with grip as the rubber from her and others’ tyres flew off.

Tyre wear was an issue for Edgar. Weug and Nobels both got past her with the young driver P15. She also had a five-second time penalty to be added on.

The grid looked to be set heading into the final lap. Block finished ahead of Bustamante following the penalty, but every other position remained unchanged.

Your Race 2 winner of the F1 Academy 2024 Barcelona GP weekend was Chloe Chambers who had an exceptional drive. She picked up an extra point for the fastest lap also. Behind her, championship leader Abbi Pulling finished P2 with Hamda Al. Qubaisi gaining her first podium finish of the season in P3.
