Jenzer Racing’s Matías Zagazeta has been ruled out of driving in the 2024 F3 Monaco weekend following emergency surgery to remove his appendix.
The Peruvian driver took to Instagram today to announce that he was on the way to the 2023 F3 Monaco weekend when he was forced to stop at Genoa and undergo surgery.
In his post, Zagazeta says he is disappointed to miss one of his favourite weekends;
“It is very painful but even more painful to not be able to race this weekend in one of the best weekends I was most looking forward to. But health always goes first. I really hope I will get this opportunity again.”
Zagazeta went on to say he’s now focusing on being fit to race again in Barcelona in a month’s time. Jenzer Motorsport is yet to announce whether there will be a replacement for the 2024 F3 Monaco weekend.
