Too much management?
While speaking with the media over the course of the Berlin E-Prix weekend, JEV was asked what it’s “like behind the wheel [in Formula E], racing it, how hard it is to stay at the front of the pack”, “It’s horrible” JEV replied. Honestly, I really don’t like this kind of racing because I hate it and I think every driver hates it”.
He went on to clarify, ” But its the way we have to race and we’re here to compete, we’re here to win. So if we have to drive in reverse, we’re going to learn how to drive in reverse. But it doesn’t mean that I like this kind of racing”
Does Formula E need to change?
It is well known that Formula E is a complicated series to master, just ask Filipe Massa! The cars require management throughout the race to allow the drivers to be in position to challenge for the win or at worst points, however does Formula E have an issue if drivers are having to “Drive in Reverse” or is this more of an adaptability issue for the drivers.

Unfortunately several motorsports series depend on a level of management wither it be management of the tyres or fuel or electrical power.
The question has to asked that is the “norm” a good thing or does the motorsport world need a re think to allow drivers to push throughout the race rather than build in a period of management.
When one of most successful drivers in the Formula E questions the style of drive required to be successful in the series then maybe someone should sit up and listen.
