Redemption for Da Costa as he takes win in Berlin

Porsche driver Antonio Felix Da Costa took his first win in 2024 in the second Berlin E Prix in redemption for his lost win in Misano.

A much cleaner race overall than the first Berlin E-Prix, Da Costa drove a superb race to take the win serving as redemption for his lost Misano win.

Pulling away in the final laps, the Portuguese driver was able to use the late fighting in the top five to his advantage after the Jaguar drivers fought for the final podium positions.

Using attack mode in the last few laps, Mitch Evans fought hard to take the win but dropped back after a lock up and finished sixth.

His teammate, Nick Cassidy who won the Saturday race, finished second continuing his podium streak and leaving Berlin with the most points out of any driver.

He now leads the championship with 140 points.

Rowland finished the top three taking his sixth podium in 2024 and second in Berlin, finishing in the same position as he did in the first Berlin race.

Despite a strong turnaround in performance from Saturday, pole sitter Jake Dennis finished fifth after squabbling with Porsche driver Pascal Wehrlein.

The two drivers made contact several times with Wehrlein lucky not to take a puncture at one point after Dennis lost his right front wing end plate against his tyre.

The safety car was deployed twice during the race after Maximilian Günther was forced to retire on lap 11 after losing his front wing which went underneath his car.

Hitting the back of an Andretti, he managed to get moving after he stopped on track, but pitted to end his second home race.

Gunther finished neither Berlin races and was reported to have attended the medical centre with his hand said to have needed medical attention.

The second safety car was deployed on lap 25 after an incident between Andretti’s Norman Nato and Nissan’s Sacha Fenestraz.

Battling side by side, Fenestraz was pushed into the wall by Nato which was given a sarcastic clap by the French-Argentinian who was forced to retire with a broken right-front suspension.

Dropping back to 18th, Nato was given a 10-second penalty and finished 19th bringing a miserable end to what had started as one of his stronger race days in 2024.

Maserati’s Jehan Daruvala managed to make up for his mistakes on Saturday and finished sixth after he stole the position from McLaren’s Taylor Barnard on the line.

A tough weekend for McLaren, Bernard had a strong race and finished ahead of teammate Jake Hughes who finished outside the points in 12th.

It is expected that Bernard will bow out of FE for now with Sam Bird suggested return in China and will take to the sim for the first time since he broke his hand.
