Nick Cassidy is a 29-year-old, New Zealand Formula E race driver, who is in his 4th season of the series. He spent the first three years of his career with Envision racing. However, this season has moved to Jaguar TCS Racing.
In the 2023 season, he finished the championship in P2. Collecting 4 wins. After 8 races in 2024, he is also P2. With one win so far and five podiums out of eight races.
A strong weekend in Monaco saw a 1-2 for the Jaguar pair with teammate Mitch Evans grasping his first win at the principality.
Ahead of the Berlin E-Prix, we asked about how he has been settling into the team. Cassidy said, “I’ve been really enjoying it,” clarifying, “I feel really welcomed, having good results always helps too.”
Nick Cassidy is only 7 points behind Pascal Wehrlein, who is currently leading the championship.
However, consistency is important heading into the second half of the season. Cassidy admitted to having “three really unlucky races as well.”
For example, he highlighted Misano. He has qualified 9th and fought his way through the pack into a podium position before having a collision and retiring.
Tokyo was also mentioned, entering the race as championship leader. Qualifying 2nd and was disqualified from qualifying, starting last.
Cassidy: “There are still those races that hurt, but most of them have been pretty good.”
Recently within the world of Formula E, there have been talks of swapping some more traditional racing tracks in. An example being Silverstone for the British E-Prix instead of London.
Nick Cassidy said candidly, “I love London and the ExCel centre, the track is awesome,” going on to say “as much as Silverstone is the home of the British GP, let’s make ExCel the home of the British E-Prix.”
Finally, when asked if he could add an E-Prix to the calender, where would he add, Cassidy very quickly responded with, “New York.” Expressing a keen interest in having a race in the Big Apple.
