Rounds 9 and 10 will see Formula E visit the German Capital, Berlin this weekend.
The ABB FIA Formula E World Championship has reached it half way point, and it returns to Berlin as the championship heats up.
Formula E has raced in Berlin for almost a decade since the series began. Berlin has brought the excitement of 18 races, with an astounding 362 overtakes in just 83 laps spread across two races.
The Berlin street circuit takes place at Tempelhof Airport, located on the outskirts of the German capital city. While the track has been used for Formula E for many years, it has some big changes this year.
The new layout is 2.343km, featuring 15 turns. It will also run anti-clockwise on both races.
The Berlin E-Prix is known for higher tyre degradation than usual because of the bumpy nature of the track. It also takes a toll on the energy saving strategies of the all-electric Formula E cars.
However, It is not an ordinary race week for Formula E in Berlin. Tempelhof airport will also be host to the Berlin Rookie Test.
Drivers from the world of FIA Formula 2, DTM, endurance racing and even the reigning F1 Academy Champion are all making their debuts.
All 11 teams will have the opportunity to bring rising talents from a multitude of categories to drive the GEN3 cars. Marta GarcĂa, Paul Aron, Frederik Vesti, Jak Crawford and Zane Maloney being just some of the talented driver stepping in at the Berlin Test.
There are 6 hours of track time. This allows teams and rookies to gather as much data as possible, to aid strategies in the coming races.
The standings going into Berlin E-Prix
The 10th season of Formula E has seen seven different winners so far, making the battle at the front of the grid a close one.
Although Pascal Wehrlein still leads the championship, he missed out on the win in Monaco.
That left him only seven points ahead of Nick Cassidy. With six from Cassidy to Jake Dennis and only one between Dennis and Oliver Rowland.
A close top four going into rounds 9 and 10 with everything still to play for in the second half of the season.
