Magnussen scored his first point of the 2024 F1 season (finishing 10th) at the Australian GP with teammate Nico Hulkenberg picking up two points (finishing 9th). It’s not quite the same as a Ferrari 1-2 but for Haas it may as well be!

Despite this being the first time both Haas drivers have picked up points since the Austrian GP 2022, Magnussen has been clear that the Haas problem is not fixes yet.

Speaking after the race he said “I’m more encouraged that the car felt actually better today in the race…But still early days, we need to see a few more tracks.” Meaning we could still see Haas’s tyre issues causing problems in future races.

Initial feedback is suggesting that the 2024 car won’t suffer from the same tyre deg as 2023. And Haas are currently sitting pretty in P7 of the constructors’ championship, ahead of Williams, Sauber and Alpine who are all yet to score a point. After finishing 10th last season, things are looking up.

But we’re only 3 races deep, in what is a very long season…

Do you think Haas can maintain 7th in the championship?

Let us know in the comments.
