According to reports from New Zealand, Daniel Ricciardo has been given an ultimatum to improve or face the chop.

According to the New Zealand Herald Liam Lawson could be returning to F1 quicker than anticipated after Redbull issued Daniel Ricciardo with an ultimatum after a poor start to the season.
Daniel Ricciardo, who races for Redbull’s sister team RB has not had the best start to the season with the Australian driver being beaten by his team-mate, Yuki Tsunoda.
Only Two Races Left?
It has been said that Danny has the next two races at Japan and China to improve or he faces being removed, with Liam Lawson taking over the drive for the remainder of the season.
Helmut Marko is said to be the person that has issued the demand, Marko is a known supporter of Liam Lawson.

Redbull are looking at Liam Lawson as the long term partner for the second seat at the main team after an impressive debut in 2023, when the young driver came into cover for the injured Ricciardo. Lawson impressed in the Alpha Tauri (now RB) last season, with his best finish 9th at the Singapore GP.
Danny on the Bubble?
Daniel Ricciardo finds himself in a less favourable situation due to the poor start to the 2024 season, however Ricciardo has not had the best few years in recent season. He spent 2 years with McLaren, although he won the 2021 Italian GP, he has not been able to maintain the standards expected of him, with McLaren culminating in the team parting company with the Australian with a year left in his contract.

Ricciardo returned to the F1 fold with a reserve role with Redbull for the 2023 season. this was changed to a race seat at Alpha Tauri (Now RB) to replace Nyck de Vries, who had underperformed in the first part of the season.
