Christian Horner, Red Bull Racing’s Team Principal, has finally addressed the media following allegations of inappropriate behaviour that have recently come to light. The initial reports of his alleged misconduct towards a female staff member at Red Bull emerged last week, according to De Telegraaf, sparking widespread attention and an external interview was promptly conducted to delve into the matter.

Speaking for the first time since the public became aware of the allegations, Horner expressed how the situation has emotionally impacted him during a press conference held before the unveiling of the RB20, as his team prepares to defend their Drivers’ and Constructors’ Championship titles in 2024.
Horner acknowledged the strain of the allegations but emphasised the unwavering support he has received: “Inevitably, there has been a distraction, but the team are very together, and everybody is focused on the season ahead, so it’s been very much business as usual, and the support has been fantastic. Obviously, my focus is very much on the season ahead… Obviously there is an investigation that I’m obviously complying and working with fully, but that is very much going on in the background whilst preparing for the season ahead.”
Despite the ongoing investigation, Horner is confident that the situation will not divert the team’s focus from their championship aspirations, especially with pre-season testing in Bahrain looming.
Red Bull launch RB20
As Red Bull Racing unveiled its car for the 2024 season, all eyes were on Team Principal Christian Horner amidst allegations and an ongoing internal investigation. The future of Horner’s presence with the team as the season opener approaches in just two weeks remains uncertain.
The investigation has sparked rumours that key figures, including chief designer Adrian Newey, might depart from the team. Horner has strongly refuted the accusations of “inappropriate, controlling behaviour” towards a female staff member. Accompanied by an external lawyer, Horner was in central London last Friday, indicating the gravity of the inquiry.

Since taking the helm of Red Bull Racing in 2005, Horner has guided the team to significant successes, clinching numerous drivers’ and constructors’ championships. Last season, under the leadership of Max Verstappen, the Milton Keynes-based squad achieved a dominant performance, securing victories in over 90% of the races.
The team has chosen to continue their successful driver lineup, with Sergio Perez partnering alongside Verstappen for the upcoming season. However, the investigation’s findings could threaten the team’s structure and leadership stability. A decision that could alter the dynamics at the top of the grid, adding to the pre-season’s already existing uncertainties.
