Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc dominated qualifying as he looked fastest all hour. His red and white car was a rocket across the track, leaving the competition in his dust.

Carlos Sainz takes P2 but will get a 10-place grid penalty for tomorrow. This penalty didn’t stop the Spaniard pushing himself for pole.
Max Verstappen drove into the pits at the end of his final lap of Q3 as he wasn’t able to pick up a fight against Leclerc. He still finds himself P3, but will start alongside the Monegasque with Sainz’ penalty.
Sergio Perez finds yet more disappointment in qualifying as his hopes of making it into Q3 crumbled when Alex Albon pushed himself above the Mexican. Perez slotted behind Lewis Hamilton in P12.
George Russel out qualified Hamilton with the No.63 able to get 4th fastest in a tight field. For a Mercedes that should have struggled this weekend, Russel got the most out of it.

Hamilton himself told his team “he couldn’t go any faster” as he got knocked out of Q2 in P11, 0.028 seconds behind his old Mercedes teammate Valtteri Bottas.
The McLaren pair could not make it out of Q1. Lando Norris had an early time deleted and was knocked out when Lance Stroll broke out of the elimination zone, leaving the Briton in P16.
Oscar Piastri couldn’t bring it together on his final lap, finding himself down in P19. Zak Brown told Sky Sports he was “very disappointed.”
The Williams duo had a fantastic qualifying session. Logan Sargeant’s last 5 starting positions have all been last, but today he was able to go 7th fastest with a stunning lap.
Teammate Albon joined Sargeant in a fantastic session when he finished 6th. This gives Williams their best chance of big points.
Lance Stroll managed 14th position but will take a 5 place grid penalty tomorrow for overtaking Sainz under yellow flags in FP3. Stroll now has to visit the stewards again for failing to slow under yellow flags in Q1.
Fernando Alonso made it into Q3, but his efforts were only good enough for P10. With the field so close, the experienced driver would likely have wanted a better position.

Haas were flying this weekend, but Nico Hulkenberg couldn’t take full advantage of his car when he could only go 13th fastest.
It was teammate Kevin Magnussen who was able to launch himself into the fight for pole and place his car in 9th for the race tomorrow
Yuki Tsunoda had a lap time deleted in Q1 which didn’t help his cause to get out of the drop zone. He had a spin on his final lap leaving him dead last. He was clearly unhappy, throwing his head rest out of the car.

Daniel Ricciardo, whose wish to race in Vegas came true, was slowest in Q2 putting him 15th.
Pierre Gasly pushed his Alpine to P5 with a great qualifying performance. It wasn’t so good for his fellow Frenchman.
Estaban Ocon hasn’t had the best weekend after hitting a loose manhole cover in FP1, and now having a poor performance in qualifying finishing P17.
Valterri Bottas showed off his qualifying experience, dragging his Alfa Romeo to Q3 to finish P8, just behind the Williams pair.
Zhou Guanyu couldn’t take his card-covered Alfa Romeo to Q2, leaving him in 18th position for the race.
