In an exciting development announced by Renault, the parent company of Alpine. Reynolds, McElhenney and Jordan have joined forces with Otro Capital and RedBird Capital Partners to invest a staggering €200 million (£171 million) in Alpine Racing. As a result of this deal, Alpine Racing has been valued at an impressive £706 million.

Currently sitting in fifth place in the F1 constructors’ championship, Alpine has already demonstrated its prowess on the racetrack. However, with the injection of capital and the star power brought by Reynolds, McElhenney and Jordan, the team is poised to reach even greater heights.

This move comes as no surprise considering the Hollywood duo’s passion for sports and their successful acquisition of Wrexham Football Club. After taking over Wrexham in 2021, the charismatic pair led the Welsh club to an astounding victory, securing the National League title and promotion back to the Football League after a 15-year absence.

Joining Reynolds, McElhenney and Jordan in this investment venture are Otro Capital and RedBird Capital Partners. RedBird, known for its investment in Fenway Sports Group, which owns both Liverpool Football Club and the Boston Red Sox, has also made waves in the sports world by acquiring AC Milan and obtaining a controlling stake in Toulouse.

Important step

Laurent Rossi, the CEO of Alpine, expressed his enthusiasm for the collaboration, stating,

“This association is an important step to enhance our performance at all levels.”

Rossi firmly believes that the involvement of Reynolds, McElhenney, Jordan and the investment firms will not only boost Alpine’s media profile but also contribute to the team’s long-term success.

With their unique blend of entertainment and business acumen, Reynolds and McElhenney have proven time and again that they are not afraid to venture into uncharted territories. Their foray into the world of Formula 1 with Alpine Racing is an exciting new chapter for both the team and the sport itself.
