This esteemed recognition, awarded by the governing body of the sport, acknowledges the highest level of environmental sustainability.
This will reinforce the commitment of the F1 community, as mentioned by Stefano Domenicali, reflecting their dedication to reaching sustainability goals.
The FIA Environmental Accreditation Programme was introduced in 2011 to promote, enhance environmental performance in the motor sport industry and evaluate various aspects of sustainability across 17 criteria.
Some of them are energy consumption, supply chain management, transport planning, noise control, and carbon emissions.
Felipe Calderón, president of the FIA Environment and Sustainability Commission states that “
…it is vital that the FIA Formula One World Championship sets the highest standards for environmental sustainability, and this renewal of FIA Three-Star Environmental Accreditation recognises that the championship continues to prioritize and achieve best practice in reaching its goals”
What’s In For The Future…
Numerous stakeholders, such as Pirelli, teams, race promoters, and host circuits, have set forth on individual paths to attain this accreditation and others have already achieved it since the FIA received theirs in 2020.
As an addition this reinforce the path of sustainability of some of the teams such as the return of Ford to F1 partnered with Redbull in 2026 to support the goal of achieving Net Zero emissions by 2030.
