The Spaniard returned to the podium for the 99th time in his Formula One career, delivering on the high expectations of the team after testing.
Red Bull have lost a number of their staff to Aston Martin in the last two years with the likes of former senior aerodynamicist Dan Fallows moving to the Silverstone based team. Fallows worked under Adrian Newey, and learnt from his great success.
He said, “I’m one of the fortunate people to have worked under Adrian and have seen his methods.”
When speaking about the comments naming the AMR23 the “Green Red Bull” he said: “Irrespective of where those comments come from, I definitely tried to bring my own work, and I’ve very much encouraged a lot of the technical team to be open minded.”

Red Bull have previously raised suspicions about the similarities between the cars, but the FIA found that there was nothing untoward and the Intellectual property of the AMR22 was legitimate.
But with this year’s AMR23 bearing likeness to that of the Red Bull’s, Dr Helmut Marko is once again asking questions.
Marko said, “It’s true that what Fallows had in his head cannot be erased.”
“We had three Red Bulls on the podium, only the last one with a different engine”.
The Red Bull advisor mirrored comments made by Sergio Perez in the post-race press conference.
